Ken Denning is born in 1957 in Sønderborg, Denmark, and died in February 2024.

Ken is educated in drawing and graphics from Funen Art Academy in Denmark. He lives and works in Kolding, Denmark.

 

Ken is a highly regarded painter of landscapes. An early career in graphics led to etching and drawing which were his preferred mediums of expression. Later lithography, serigraphy, woodcut and photography became the basis for Ken´s oeuvres. These were then worked up in plastic, acrylic and oils so the composition became based on shiftings and overlaps and depths were created. Colour is used with sensitivity and layering to add to the dynamic of the work.

 

Ken has exhibited widely at home and abroad and his work is held in numerous private and corporate collections; also represented in the Royal Collection at the National Gallery of Denmark and abroad in Guan Shanyue Art Museum, China, Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Paris, Sasol Art Museum, Stellenbosch, South Africa and Marianne und Heinrich Lenhardt Stiftung, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
